We went hiking on the beautiful nature trail in Haukkavuori, a day full of adventure and learning. This hike allowed young people to learn about forest rules, their rights and respect for biodiversity.
Forest rules and respect
There are rules and techniques for moving around in nature. We teach young people how to move responsibly in the forest and respect the environment. For example, we talk about the importance of picking up litter, walking on marked paths, and leaving animal and plant habitats untouched.
Rights in nature
We also discussed everyone’s rights to enjoy nature freely. The young people learned about their rights to be in nature, and we learned about the responsibilities that come with these rights.
Making a fire
Making a campfire and learning how to handle fire safely is an integral part of camping. We teach young people how to start a campfire safely and what precautions to take when doing so. Around the campfire, we share stories and enjoy socializing.
Preparing the picnic
The highlight of our Day was the campfire and picnic. We roasted sausages and other delicacies over the fire while enjoying the peace and beauty of nature. Cooking together strengthens the group’s spirit and creates unforgettable memories.
This hike on the Haukkavuori Nature Trail was an excellent opportunity for young people to gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of nature. It provides practical skills and knowledge to apply to their future hikes and outdoor experiences. Together, we will build a stronger relationship with nature and learn how to protect it for future generations.
