“What if women’s leadership also meant safer, healthier communities?”
🎯 About the Project
The “Women’s Leadership in Health & Safety Education” project, coordinated by Femina ry (Finland), strengthened educators’ and community leaders’ capacity to integrate health and safety education, gender equality, and digital learning into leadership programmes for adults.
The initiative addressed three key challenges in adult education:
- Gender-sensitive leadership, empowering women to create safer and more inclusive workplaces.
- Digital transformation, equipping educators with skills to deliver accessible online and blended training.
- International collaboration, building partnerships to share best practices and co-create learning models.
Six adult education professionals from Femina ry participated in an 8-day training programme in Riga, Latvia (October–November 2025), organised by Mācību centrs Komunālceltnieks, a vocational and adult education institution with over 30 years of experience in safety and leadership training. Following the mobility, each participant developed an individual output based on the training content, which was shared internally in March 2026 and through post-mobility workshops in June-July 2026
🎯 Our Goals
1️⃣ Lead Safely

💬 Expected Results
- Six staff members completed an 8-day training at KCMC (Riga) on gender-sensitive health and safety, inclusive learning and digital tools; the follow-up survey confirmed that all respondents had applied the digital tools and inclusive strategies in their work.
- Three new learning materials: Gender-Sensitive Leadership Risks, Inclusive & Safe Spaces Checklist, Digital Tools for Low-Skilled Learners and one joint module, Community-Based Safety Training, were developed and used in two post-mobility workshops (41 attendees); three further project concepts remain at the development stage.
- A working cooperation with KCMC was established and continues after the mobility, with professional contacts made at FN-SERVISS, Jūrmala Youth Initiatives Centre and Jūrmala Welfare Administration. The results were shared with 14 Femina staff, teachers and youth workers, two university research groups and Femina’s public channels, positioning women’s leadership in health and safety education within Femina’s ongoing work.
