Femina ry invites young people to participate in the final training workshop of the Nordic Youth Media Lab project.

📅 Date: 5 June 2026
📍 Online via ZOOM

The training is dedicated to young people, educators, youth workers, teachers and civil society representatives from the Nordic countries and Estonia who are interested in strengthening media literacy, digital engagement and responsible social media participation.

Social media plays an increasingly important role in how young people communicate, learn, build communities and participate in society. While digital platforms provide opportunities for creativity, self-expression, networking and civic engagement, they also present challenges such as misinformation, online manipulation, algorithmic influence and reputational risks.

This interactive training will explore how young people can build a credible and authentic social media presence while strengthening their media literacy, critical thinking and digital engagement skills. Participants will gain a better understanding of how social media shapes public opinion and behaviour, how misinformation spreads online, and how digital platforms can be used responsibly for positive social impact, community engagement and democratic participation.

The training will cover topics including youth identity and personal branding, media literacy, social media algorithms, misinformation and disinformation, digital citizenship, responsible content creation and effective online communication. Participants will also explore practical tools for building trust, credibility and meaningful engagement in digital environments.

The session combines expert input, active participation, discussions, practical exercises, reflection activities and interactive questionnaires. Through peer learning and collaborative activities, participants will strengthen their ability to navigate today’s complex information environment and use social media more effectively and responsibly.
