INFOSHIELD GEN Z – Digital Detectives Against Misinformation

INFOSHIELD GEN Z

Digital Detectives Against Misinformation

Project Launch

Official launch of INFOSHIELD GEN Z: Digital Detectives Against Misinformation, an innovative youth-led initiative funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme.

Starting June 1, 2026, this project brings together five Finnish young people and experienced coaches to equip approximately 180–220 teenagers with practical media literacy and digital verification skills.

Why This Matters

Misinformation spreads fast. Trust erodes faster. Yet young people lack practical tools and confidence to verify information responsibly.

INFOSHIELD GEN Z addresses this gap: we offer hands-on peer-to-peer learning with real-world fact-checking techniques that work on TikTok, Instagram, and messaging apps.

By aligning with European priorities in media literacy, digital resilience, inclusion, and civic participation, this project strengthens the information ecosystem while building a generation of critical thinkers.
