Last weekend, we successfully Training II, titled “Embracing of 5Rs Sustainability Framework for driving sustainable change and living,” as part of our ongoing III International Training series focused on promoting sustainable lifestyle choices and green growth.

Our expert, Laura Rajala, guided participants through an insightful exploration of the 5R Sustainability Framework: Refuse, Reuse, Reduce, Repurpose/Rot, and Recycle. This comprehensive framework provided a valuable tool for participants to navigate the path towards sustainable practices in their communities.

The training aimed to equip NGO leaders, community members, young adults, and other stakeholders working with vulnerable groups with the knowledge and skills necessary to champion sustainable development goals (SDGs). Participants gained a deeper understanding of the importance of reducing overconsumption and its detrimental impact on the environment and climate.

Integration of the 5R Method: A Path to Sustainable Change

The 5R method served as a central focus of the training, providing a practical framework for participants to implement sustainable practices in their everyday lives and communities. Participants learned how to integrate the 5Rs into their decision-making processes, from purchasing habits to waste management strategies.

The training emphasized the importance of empowering local communities to drive sustainable change. Participants explored various strategies for engaging with communities, administrations, and businesses to foster collaboration and promote sustainable initiatives.

The III International Training continues to inspire and empower individuals and communities to embrace sustainable lifestyles and drive green growth in the Nordic-Baltic region. By working together, we can create a brighter and more sustainable future for all.
