In 2023, Femina ry has achieved significant accomplishments, thanks to our dedicated team, partners, funders, members, volunteers, and supporters.
Support Services: We have provided essential support to 203 women who have faced violence or the threat of violence. Our team of trained professionals and experienced experts have assisted them with legal, social, and integration issues, always maintaining ethical principles and confidentiality.
Social and Humanitarian Assistance: We have extended a helping hand to women and children in need. From providing food, clothing, hygiene products, to school supplies, our aim has been to alleviate their challenges and improve their lives.
Legal Advice and Consultation: Women seeking assistance have found guidance through our legal services. Whether it was starting a business, applying for a residence permit, navigating divorce proceedings, or dealing with the Finnish Immigration Service, we have been there to provide help and support.
Empowering Youth: Our local workshops, trainings, seminars, and information days have focused on educating and empowering young people, with a particular emphasis on girls and women. Topics covered include gender equality, human rights, active participation, advocacy, and entrepreneurship skills.
Gender Equality Education Toolkit: Drawing from our workshops, trainings, and meetings with young people, we have developed a toolkit for youth organizations and educational institutions. This toolkit promotes gender equality and equips the next generation with essential knowledge.

In 2023, Femina joined hands with esteemed partners and collaboration with Luksia, Kotipesa ry, The National Council of Women of Finland, Porskrunn culture school, Compass Denmark and Aarhus University.

Youth Conference on Gender Equality and Human Rights: In Helsinki, Finland, we have successfully hosted an impactful international youth conference. The conference focused on discussing gender equality within the education system, presenting project results, and planning follow-up activities. The event brought together 68 participants from 5 different countries to discuss gender equality in the education system
Youth as Solutions: Our youth conference in Porsgrunn, Norway, has challenged the prevailing narrative. Titled “Youth Not as a Problem, but the Solution!”, it has brought together young people, decision-makers, and organizations to empower youth involvement in decision-making processes. The overall format of the events was rated 9.1 out of 10. Pre-events information and communications were rated 8.7 out of 10. The overall organisation during the events was rated 8.9 out of 10. The overall conference was rated 9.45 out of 10
International Engagement: Through collaboration with the Green Habito network, we have actively participated in international security and civil society conferences.
Together with partners from Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and other countries, we have explored critical issues and worked towards finding solutions.
